V-League: Adamson, NU try to bolster respective bids
Season 7 second conference titlist Adamson University and National U try to bolster their respective bids in the Shakey’s V-League Season 8 first conference when they take on separate opponents on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Falcons of coach Dulce Pante battle fancied Ateneo in the 4 p.m. main game hoping to stay in the hunt for the last Final Four berth in Group A, while the Lady Bulldogs eye a first ever semis stint against Far Eastern U in the opener.
Adamson will be facing an Ateneo team that is aiming to win its sixth straight game.
NU, meanwhile, is fresh from a 25-17, 25-21, 25-17 triumph over Southwestern University of Cebu to even its record to 1-1.
A win by the Lady Bulldogs over the Lady Tams in their 2 p.m. encounter will earn them a semis berth in Group B.
FEU, on the other hand, is also trying to win as many games to keep its own semis bid alive.
Bacolod’s University of St. La Salle (2-0) clinched the first Final Four slot in Group B to become the first Visayan team to advance into the next round since the league accepted top provincial squads four seasons ago. - JVP, GMA News
